I talked to the owner. It's his home away from home as a drainage contractor. Barhales are laying (what looks like) sewer pipe. His commute involves walking from the site to the 'Mog. About 20'.

And it's parked in the pub car park....

Does he get paid, or does he pay them?

The Dick Turpin is well known for it's themed vehicle meets. Eg; M'cycles on Wednesdays, American on Thursdays, etc.

So, yes, it IS heaven.

:o Sweet! It's easy enough to forget that a Passat used to be that small.

It's not as small as it looks, easily enough room in the boot for two bodies. Which in 1975 would of probably been a good selling feature.

 Funny how a car's "bodies in the boot" score is relevant again in the present time, but I was thinking more about how small it would appear if it were stood by the current incarnation. A quick lookup suggests that a new Passat with saloon roofline is only a foot longer than that orange vision of loveliness. A CC body is - and this surprised me - only ten Inches longer than the '70s hatch. Shape can play tricks on the mind.

Sure you looked up the Passat and not a new Golf?
