Re: John John ! Fibreglass mini !!!
What about looking for a Domino Pimlico I seem to recall that they did a hard top version?
Re: John John ! Fibreglass mini !!!
Too many differences from the shape of the real mini to turn me on I'm afraid.
And the last one of those I travelled in was very hard to get into and out of thanks to high door sills and a low roof. I'd have found it easier to wrap myself in brown paper and post myself to wherever I wanted to go..

Interesting, yes mate, and thanks for posting these things but one of the people posting in that thread makes the point about SVA and whither the shell would affect the car's original identity and there's the thing, the Cord is a factory mini and as such, the only red tape involved is that which makes it so damned hard to recover to the UK, though even that will evaporate if we can find someone to drive or otherwise get it into the USA and pop it in the post from there!
I'm not giving up just yet.

John - Dont know if this helps but I have a very good Jowett friend in California, said friend runs a workshop mainly dedicated to Jowetts + other classics (races a Jupiter in the states) He is a very, very helpful guy and we occasionally ship to & from UK - USA & vice versa (every thing from spares / parts / bits to complete cars via Scott - He retains many, many contacts and is a feet on the floor type of guy - always willing to help and not of the wallet fleecing variety - if you ever wanted someone to trust / help Stateside - Scott is your man - pm me if you want details and I will introduce you both.

Thanks Chris, much appreciated.
However, getting things from the USA to the UK isn't the stumbling block here. The difficult part is getting the car out of Venezuela. I did have a work exchange placement worked out that would have helped with that but our respective departments there and here were unable to transport me by sea which means I'm still here and the mini's still there.
I'll sort it somehow..
