I will keep 'dropping by'. Turns out we have some mutual friends, so i have some 'cred' with him. I'll play the long game (take my time) and see what develops.

I like how it looks. I'd fix any mechanical problems and leave the 'look' as is. As i said previously (i think), too many old war/workhorses get restored to showroom/factory condition and babied. This one has an obvious history and a story to tell. Just like the Austin on SOS. Wiping all that away with a full resto would destroy all of that. Which would be just wrong (to me).

I am having to use the bus for work (Two hour out of the way trip for the sake of nine miles), since I have a broken collar bone (Perhaps a cracked rib or two, until last week, it hurt like hell if you sneezed) and cannot drive or cycle.

I spotted a Triumph Herald and MGB GT, looking a bit sorry for themselves, on two driveways, on a damp morning. I changed buses at Neville Hall Hospital, in Abergavenny and spotted a Morris Minor Traveller for sale in the car park. It was an old English white example, with red seats. It was on a C plate, suggesting it was a 1965 car (In those days they ran January to December). There was no price on it, just two phone numbers. The body looked reasonable but the wood was showing the tell tale signs of rot. I'd have guessed it was worth £1000 - £1500.

I spied a lovely Triumph Acclaim yesterday, beige it was. Shiny and spotless, making a very nice noise as it rolled along Blandford Street down there in that Newcastle.
If it was yours, I was the bloke in the red Golf grinning like a madman and extending the left thumb in your direction as you went past when I was filtering off into Westgate Road. Best Acclaim I've had the pleasure of seeing since they were new.

Two today; a very straight, maroonish red Jaguar 420g on a 1968-1969 G plate parked along Bridge Street in Morpeth, its 6'4" of width causing traffic to move across the road a little too far. I stood watching as the guy pulled it away from the kerb and man, that IL6 made a nice noise through its pipes. Then, parked up by the As-Da in Ashington, a pale blue Viva HA that I hadn't seen around the county before today. Again, a clean, straight example.

Quality.

Went to VSCC Pembrey today. We took my mother's BGT and my father drove, as my collar bone is still a bit weak.

Cracking day, cracking entry but sadly car 40 (Lotus 12) crashed, whilst battling to pass car 3 (ERA R4D), though there was no contact. The race was stopped and the driver was taken to hospital but I know no more. I hope both car and driver will be OK.

No sound I'm afraid; all I had was a small point amd squirt Finepix camera (You can zoom it but not much).
