The Dacia Denim was a clone of the Renault 12.
John Simpson.
It's Denem, but close enough....

It was indeed, and I had the sump shield
(and posh wheels & interior) from a Denem estate in a scrapyard in 1985 to prevent my "Gordini-fied" 12 estate losing any more sumps to humpy-backed bridges.
How I'd love to save a Denem now though, if only to make up for my sins against the breed back then.
Why were they called "Denem" in the UK I wonder? The cars' other markets made do with "1310".

Mine dropped through the letterbox last Saturday at 8.45 and spoilt a day of building work, quick browse and a cup of coffee = 11.30 start to clear up after the builders. I enjoyed all of it though. The only thing I would have done differently was to award the star letter to Trevor Murdin from Leigh on Sea who instead of feeling sorry for himself when diagnosed with cancer went out and bought a classic and is now enjoying it. Pity there arn't more like him about instead of gripers and grumblers.

A bunch of Series 1 Land Rovers in their natural habitat. Perfect.
OK, so it's said that, if you want to travel into the Outback, you should take a Land Rover but, if you want to get home afterwards, you should take a Toyota. I think that the feature sets the record straight. Solihull - 1, Aichi - 0.
