Growing up in the UK, I kind of now all the Mini special editions that were around. There are lots of Mini's being imported here as 60's and 70's models when they really are not. It's a matter of time before customs clamped down on it. Pity, but you take your chances, and pay your price.

aware many land rovers are imported or exported to USA as 'old' models to try and circumvent emissions etc. customs officers are very hot on this and check very carefully chassis numbers etc . anything suspicious is not given benefit of doubt and simply crushed. dozens so far already met a sad fate. slightly annoying as these were in decent shape and would have served many years for a happy owner. still one has to assume the owner? importer? can afford to write off such losses without a tear.
