Bizarre isn't it, I teach in a secondary school and only a couple of the teachers have nick names yet when I was at school they all did

Anyway from my school days;
Deputy head was Biffo.
Maths teacher was George ( because that was his name. He had a cane called 'Fred')
English teacher was Jock ( Scottish, not very original) he was a spitfire pilot during the war and took part in the Battle of Britain - incredible stories he used to tell - had us spellbound.
TD teacher was 'tiger' Church.
Chemistry teacher 'brass neck'
Form teacher was 'Tuck' ( He was a monk

yes we had a monk as a form tutor)
RS teacher 'Taffy' Edwards (Welsh)
Metalwork teacher was ' Messerschmitt'
PE teacher 'doc' Chant and 'rocker' Lees.

The deputy headmaster was called Coombes, 'Crapper' Coombes to all and sundry.
Good one that.
A quite detestable man as I recall; he died a few years ago and the obituaries were the most strained in their praise you could ever read.

Sorry, Terry, but that's not so! Posts have been disappearing for weeks now, loads of show photos, all sorts. Sorry to put this here but for example:
D'oh, no, can't attach a screen grab as it's a PNG. PM me a means of doing that and I will, it's not funny any more.

One maths teacher was a Mr Harris. His nickname was 'Clit'.
The art teacher was 'arry. The Head Teacher was Knobby Wright. I don't know why but always had been. We had an English teacher called Booker. He was the most arrogant individual you could possibly meet. He rode a Vincent with a sidecar that looked like a bullet. A strange looking thing and was always known as 'Bookers Bomb'.
When I started work nearly everybody had a knickname. I remember one bloke who always walked around with his hands jammed in the pockets of his sports coat to such a point that his jacket had gone out of shape. He was real jovial guy with a ready sense of humour. He was always known as 'Jolly Jimmy Higgs with a joggle in his jacket'. Another bloke once worked in the local Maypole grocery store was referred to as the 'Butter patter'. The foreman over the carpenters shop was a Mr Woodcock. He was known as 'Timber Dick'! I was the 'Pedler'. That was because my name is Palmer and Pedler Palmer was the famous Dr Palmer the Rugeley poisoner hung in 1854 in Stafford Jail. I was later to find out he was a relative!

Thanks to Terry, I have just remembered the piano teacher at my school: Miss Widdas. I suspect you can guess her nickname!

I've just remembered another one, not a nickname but one of our music teachers, who taught clarinet was called Miss Screech!
The maths teacher was called Bod due to his resemblance (bald head mainly) to the TV cartoon character
