I used expnding foam in the car between the lpg tank and the car's wheel well for sound proofing.
I did layer the floor with cling film and did the same to the back of the carpet under the tank, so
that I could remove it if needed! The difference was amazing in deadening the sound.

I have seen a MK4 escort that had expanding foam sills. It wouldn't have been my first choice for a structural repair.

Ah! Expanding foam and Gripfill - the craftsman's choice eh?

The previous owner of my house must have had shares in expanding foam - it's basically held together with it. It's taking me an age to slowly go round and do things properly...... Grrr!

Isn't that traditionally how the French make cars?
Here is a link to the factory where the Pug 206 was built:

I would never use adhesive to hold a TV to a wall. A six inch mail in each corner is much more secure.

I don't know why, but the IT bods where I worked scorned my suggestion...

To be fair, I believe that early Minis had their sills filled with expanding foam to waterproof them and provide some extra torsional rigidity

Indeed they did, but why they used absorbent foam is anyone's guess! :(
