BT are useless

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Did you know that the current CEO of BT is a woman. She is so liked by BT personnel she has a 24 hour a day minder!

BT Bloody Terrible. There are others. I have a mate who is a BT Engineer. He says that the engineers put up with abuse from disgruntled customers daily and they are fed up with it. They have to contact Indian call centres if they have a problem and they can't understand the operator' on the other end either!!

:? Woman or not, Michael Rake is a twunt, and he's the one in charge. BT has UK call centres, the downside is that pillocks like Theresa bloody Stableford work in them!

Nah, they just switch the phone off at the exchange - as I found out three months after Mother confused the system by paying by cheque and "cancelling" the direct debit. You wouldn't believe how much it costs to send a man out to flick the switch!! I wonder how long it would take BT to put Mother on the blacklists if I hadn't been using the internet - they didn't send a final demand or anything.

I felt sorry for a new neighbour who has rented a house from another neighbour. The previous tenant hadn't bothered to pay the bill (probably only used the mobile), so the phone had been cut off. She called BT out because the phone didn't work (and the landlord didn't know - or hadn't said: she had some Australian relations who used the house off and on during the summer).

How? The only number to call goes through to an automated system that does the line check - you never get to speak to a human being at any point. I'm sure the automated system isn't going to get tired of my calls and put me through to somewhere else eh?
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

Press 0 at the option prompt but do it before the list ends. ;) That has worked every time so far in Dad's struggle to get some joy out of BT Broadband.

They don't have to send a man out, they just sit at a terminal. I used to be able to sit at my desk in Ipswich and re-configure routers anywhere in the world. Gave me an immensely satisfying sense of power :D
