sat navs

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

If you've had a TomTom, stick with it, I changed, and lasted 10 minutes before I sold it and went back to TomTom, so much easier to use. I have a feeling mine is probably so far out of date now it'll need a lot of updating, but I've not had the need to use it for the past few years. I suppose I should try it and see what happens, it was top of the range when I bought it all those years ago.

Coincidentally, I got an email from a friend and he said his wife had managed to damage his Tom Tom when trying to get it off the windscreen. He's checked and it'll cost £75 for service/repair or, in his case £90 for a new one!

I don't know which admission is worse: Terry for being a tight g*t or Kevin for spending good money on an iphone 5.

I'm not sure about the value of a road atlas - I have just discovered that there is a new motorway through our area - the M6! Perhaps I need to update my atlas! I used Google Earth and street view to find the last "strange area" I went to. I printed out the details of the two or three awkward junctions and only missed one of them!

If it still powers on and works, bung it on ebay. Someone will want it, broken case or not. Even if it doesn't I bet it will make enough to pay the difference between a fix and a replacement.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

I need to get a new road atlas. The one I've got shows a road and says route of proposed Fosse Way.
