Reminds me of Christmas '68. I had just started as farm manager and the farm workshop was opposite our house. We, or father Christmas had given our eldest a pedal tractor for christmas. Mid morning he came in in floods of tears, his tractor was broken . He had taken it into the workshop and "mended" his tractor with a 2lb hammer. Plastic and hammers don't mix very well, Dad then had to make it better. A steel patch and several years of fun followed. Hammers were put out of reach.

Falling forwards on to the bonnet... i went through the windscreen and broke the pillar

Didn't stop the fun though !

£50 -- for a big leisure battery. A few relays and an on/off/on switch ( which is the forward /reverse "gearstick") Secondhand plywood. The rest is junk from the tip . 2 electric golf caddys /caddies?? motors, wheelchair speed controller / brake .Lights i made -stainless food bowls and LED's

We've still got it,but it looks a bit sad...its sat outside 4 winters

and it was only thrown together quick ..
Still has a charge

, i tried it the other day ! Good, them leisure batteries !
Its called an Apache , the plans were in 1994 Model Engineer which i have if you want copies.I just modified it to look like a Lightweight. As it happens i'm short of work , and i'm making another right now . . All new stuff so far - 40 quid plywood, 22 quid -wheels (ebay) , axles -i made , wheelchair motor i had .. I reckon £200 with all new stuff.

Rich, you could part-x it for an MR2. You wouldn't ever have to replace the alternator on it
