Christmas. Knees up round the piano or hide for the duration

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Christmas summed up nicely by that one gesture, IMHO.

Never play chess with a pigeon. It will knock all the pieces over, S*#t on the board and then strut around pretending it won.

An unemployed christmas for me this time, so not much to be had in the line of cheer apart from watching my 16 month old son opening the few pressies we managed to get him without getting ourselves into debt.

Still, we have been invited to a Philippine party on the 24th and they tend to be family affairs rather than piss ups, with loads of really good grub.

Roll on 2013 indeed, but not if its going to be like 2012.

Dear Santa, please can I have a job as a Draughtsman. Not too far from home and not looney hours to try and stop the company going under like the last one was.

Luv,

Maaarrghk! (aged 49 3/4).

Good luck - I have been there, too, and can appreciate some of what you are thinking (having been made redundant just before Christmas in 2003 and again in february 2010)
