Do the Police take notice?
Re: Do the Police take notice?
Unfortunately they can't accept that as there is no way to prove the image hasn't been tampered with. The fuzz can only use digital imagery where the photos are signed and kept on encrypted storage.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

I used to work with an old guy who, (providing traffic conditions were favorable and he was close enough to the person driving while phoning) would wind his window down and yell "GET OFF THE **** PHONE!" Seldom failed.
I don't really understand why after spending the thick end of £400 on a new smartphone these idiots can't afford another £20 for a wee wireless hands free thingy that velcros to the sun visor.

Re: Do the Police take notice?
I suppose I could sum it up by saying that I think the scenes, showing the policemen in Last of the Summer Wine were very apt. As an example, they used to send a car, to do speed checks, near the shop, every Tuesday morning (When the road was relatively quiet), rather than on a weekend when the weather was fine (Come to think of it, we haven’t had a Summer for six years but that’s another matter). In the depths of my memory, I can recall some fine Summer weekends, when from about mid afternoon, the road would be full of prattmobiles (The drivers of whom had doubtless spent some time in the local country pubs), being driven in a manner befitting their description. These days, that seems to have become less common but we still get some of the off road motorcycles, being driven in similar fashion and I know they stop at one of the local pubs, for more time than it takes to down a quick half!!
Then there was the time when some nerds, in a prattmobile, tried to knock me off the bike, with the car door (Didn’t allow for the air pressure on said door and missed). That was at about 7.40am, so I assume they had been to an all nighter. About five miles on, I caught up with them (They had been pulled over by the Police). I wish now that I had simply smacked the driver in the mouth, as despite finding drugs in the car, it seems their word was as good as mine, so far as the door opening incident was concerned and no action was taken. Had I decked the little s>*t, I’d soon have found myself in court (I sometimes think they only go for the easy cases).
In defence of the Police, I understand that the CPS and the general “Do gooder” society tend to handicap them.
So far as mobile phones and driving are concerned, it is said that using a hand held phone, whilst driving is more dangerous than driving and being just over the drink drive limit. If so, can someone explain why being over the drink drive limit (Quite rightly) attracts a driving ban, yet using a hand held phone, whilst driving, attracts a lesser penalty. To me it’s a bit like a burglar getting a stiffer sentence than a murderer.

That really is the crux of the matter. They probably declined to take action in the case of the door incident not because they didn't believe you but because they thought there was no chance of a conviction without independent corroboration.Martin Evans wrote: In defence of the Police, I understand that the CPS and the general “Do gooder” society tend to handicap them.

On the otherhand, have a look on google,Police awards ceremony, you should see what officers have to deal with, especially the most detested crime, paedophilia. A possibility officers will have to look at sickening photos, which we all would not want to see. Police have to go to homes of characters that we see on Jeremy Kyle, not that I watch the programme, can't stand it. So,hopefully that should send home, why the Police should be better appreciated....ah doo doo doo,a dah dah dah

My phone camera comment was meant to be tongue in cheek - after all, it would make you as bad as themTerryG wrote:Unfortunately they can't accept that as there is no way to prove the image hasn't been tampered with.
