mr2 alternator removal

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

the power steering has packed up, from what i can see its an electric pump, i am trying to see if its a dodgy connection.. any advice will be very much apreciated!

Which you will find needs the alternator removing to access.

seems to be working again, ive checked all the electrical conections and its ok now???

just had a response from the mot people for the car, needs to have €2000 test so i can register it over here.. bugger. going to see if i can sell it for "spares" & recover the money ive spent... bit of a shame as its a really tidy car..

:idea: Could you not register it in Hungary or Poland first, then register it in France after a further few months? ;)

its a grey import so getting the certificate of conformity from toyota france is impossible.. shame as the local toyota dealers are so helpfull.. if it had been a genuine uk car i wouldnt of had this problem..

Assuming it was UK registered does that really matter? Otherwise you need to pop back to the UK every 6 months and you could drive it there anyway ;)
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

its been over here about 18 months.. ive half the paperwork quittus fiscal, ct etc so it doesnt need the uk mot & tax disc.. i could ship it back to blighty but id need to have it picked up from the port.
on the bright side ive been looking for a replacement & found a lovely 1980 mazda 323, morris traveller & several micras :D
