These Tracker things for cars
Re: These Tracker things for cars
Modern trackers use two things: Traditional RF for the police to locate with their roof mounted ariels and the mobile phone network. You can do a reasnoble job of blocking the signal by putting cars in to grounded containers but you would have the record of the cars movements to that point from the mobile phone tracking system so if you are quick they won't have chance to put the car in a container and move it.

Re: These Tracker things for cars
Thanks for the information Terry.
I guess it might be possble for thieves to locate, remove and dispose of the tracker before the vehicle is discovered to have been stolen - depends on how much the car is worth to them.
That scraping sound you can hear is me franticly moving my goalposts around.........

Re: These Tracker things for cars
I'm sure that has been done. I have watched a couple of those fly on the wall police things on TV where they have found a car that has had all the interior pannels pulled off with people aparantly looking for a tracker and not finding it. I would imagine professional thieves know where to look and what to look for.
They are fairly generic looking boxes but if you buy one to fit yourself disguising it is a good idea.
