Midget has about 140K on it from 1972, not all on original parts i suspect.... I've done about 15K since i got it.

Landy has 127K since 1968 all on original, and boy does it feel like it. the last 50K were on off road trials.

G/f s starlet has just popped over 99K, but my winner is

dad's mini : has 189K on it since 1970, still on original block, but has just munched a piston ring so a rebore is on the cards...

(he went to Venice in it. twice.)

Have a read of this site to get the gist of the whole Triumph large-journal OHV crankshaft thing. Yes, it also refers to the TR engines but the techniques are applicable across the board. This issue is by no means only found in large-journal Triumph OHVs, but they do have a bit of a penchant for self destruction.
If there's too little endfloat to detect by eye, I.E. if a dial test indicator is needed to measure the movement, then the engine's not about to fall apart, but unless you know the history of the engine, a thrust washer swap could help to postpone the onset of the engine's other known crankshaft troubles.
Google for "Triumph 1500 OHV thrust washers" and there will be many more snippets of information about this, many of them far more objective than anything I could say.. :)

My Rover P6B has 122K on it, 27K of which I have put on it in the last 2 years using it daily. Still going strong :)

I've always kept cars long enough to put loads of miles on them. Most previous cars have mostly got up to just under 200K before trading in but I think our "modern" diesel Fiesta has 190K on it now.

My 240, original block. I was told by the P/O that she'd had the 'two head gasket mod' to 'allow' it to run on unleaded. I've no record of this in the extensive history file tho'.

My 850 has 164,500 ish, all original too :D

I never realised that they trotted that one out beyond the B14s! Biggest con in the book though since any of the OHC-engined 240s will be fine on unleaded.
My first 240 was a very early, B20-engined OHV version but there was no shortage of leaded 2-star back then and nobody had even considered fitting hardened inserts to iron heads at that time.
Of course, the B18 & B20 had their own little foibles that would, occasionally, catch us out:

Yes, I have since been told the same. I've really no idea if it was done or how I can tell (short of removing the head to look  that is).
