It does not make any difference if the resistor is connected or not so that can be ignored.
When I had a 205, the resistor went open circuit and all that happened was that the dim-dip stopped working and the lights functioned normally. That was why I suggested disconnecting it. Your version seems much more complicated.

Hi Suffolkpete no problem, it can only be a Citroen
they do seem to do things in a rather convoluted way, you know that is what I thought, remove resistor sorted.Ha Ha.I should have known. Cheers mate.

Yeah, you must be to drive that on a daily basis, respect due to you though, I wouldn't have the cahones for it.
