Torture chamber on wheels, couldn't agree more. Can you imagine squeezing your missus & brood into that little caravan? What a scream, post the pics here. My missus and I always stay in a hotel when we attend a festival, we leave camping, or glamping, to others. I just fancied a period caravan to pose with the car.

Off topic. Although, I've never worked out this thread's topic. Two years ago, a local tyre company replaced all five tyres and inner tubes on the MG for £360. A replacement tyre and tube, by the same company, following a recent encounter with a pisshead's pint glass, has cost £148. Captive market, or what?

"Breakdown Truck" ought to be a clue, but I think (and don't tell Rich that I said this 'cos I have no intention of offending him ) that in fact, the title "Random, mainly vehicular thoughts that pop into Rich's mind when he has a spare second to himself" was overlooked because it's too long.

I think that tyres for the MG should be cheaper because they're not as wide, therefore cannot possibly cost the same to make, assuming that the tooling cost has long since passed the break even stage. So my proposed solution would be to fit the car with some Carlos Fandangos and phat (sic) rubber, innit!

The last of the Y Types, known as YB's, had 15" wheels, whereas the earlier Y Type, that became known as YA's had 16" wheels. (I think.) The YB, is able, because of it's wheel size, to have radials, but the YA has to stay on crossplies. My car has radials that from the tyre wall resemble crossplies, but it still has that distinctive squat look that is so characteristic of radials. I only wanted a single tyre, and tube, but, I did want it to match the others, hence a captive market.
I might check out the phat rubber.
