Re: Goodwood Revial, period outfit?
Any day for Revival is a good day - great racing action and so much more to see - has for period costume - make the effort just don't busk it because you will be embarrassed if you make half of an attempt when you see how much effort that everyone else has gone to - and the guys make just as much of an effort has the girls - anyhow at a very different event 'Jowett Car Club Annual Rally' which happened in May (pics and report to follow under a different thread) me and the other half entered and won the best period dress (dress in the style to the period of the car that you enter - ours is a 1952 Jowett Javelin) and here for your merriment is the pic
I have little excuse for not finding the right outfit - the good lady manages the production of costumes for major film productions - which is why I never have to buy a suit!
1937 Jowett 8 - Project - in less pieces than the Jupiter
1943 Jowett Stationary Engine
1952 Jowett Jupiter - In lots of peices http://Jowett.org/
1952 Jowett Javelin - Largely original
1973 Rover P6 V8 - Original / 22,000 miles

No bother mate, any time.
Liking the artwork on the poster and can only agree that its creator is indeed possessed of a walloping great big quantity of talent. Could that artist perhaps be a forum member? The style is distinctive methinks.

Back in the 80's, three guys appeared on TV in what has become a television classic.rich. wrote:still waiting for pics of ght.....and his tassels
The Greatest Show on Legs.
At a recent show up in Glasgow, my wife and I saw a re-enactment of this wonderful routine.
The tribute act had the guys wearing tassels stuck on their buttocks.
"Love the ass-els," said my wife, causing the lady in front of us to shriek loudly with involuntary laughter, and most of the audience to turn around to see who it was.
