why?
Re: why?
Having asked that exact question of a Citroen salesman, it is "to protect it from minor bumps and scrapes" which to me translated as "a bit of bumpy plastic is cheaper than metal and paint"
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Re: why?
Isn't that the keypad for the entry alarm? It's a car designed for older people and as anyone has ever used a Dorro phone or Dorro universal remote controller will tell you; older people can't operate tiny keys. They can't remember numbers either, so the giant keys all light up in sequence to show the driver where to press. A bit like playing a game of Simon, but even slower than level 1 and more pointless.
One of the staff in the fetishism and crisis lending block at work has recently bought a Cactus. I have no opinion on this, just passing on that snippet of information in case anyone feels the need to go out and shoot at it some time. She stays in New York, just off Westminster Avenue, it should be easy to find because every other motor parked outside her close is a cut & shut Peugeot 206.
And now I'll be posting a photographic image showing what a Citroen should look like:

There, that's order restored to the world.
