Good Friday everyone

#1 Post by m.thaddeus »

Good friday to you all.

I know that the weather is fantastic and what it bluebells, Blackthorn, and oil-seed rape being in dazzling bloom, it is fine time to be out in your cherished motor.

But it is also a perfect chance to get your under pinnings rust-proofed before the season starts proper.

Another long weekend next week. So sod the royals and get the wax-injection gear out.

Remember April 29th is Brown-nose day!

Fine weather? Not likely! The fog hasn't lifted all day, it's only around 54F here (though closer to 68 just a few miles inland) and the grockles are staying away from the coastal trail in their thousands, so not all bad then. :D

It's a little windier here at sunny Anthorn than it was yesterday, so the temperature is down a little from too hot to work the lawnmower yesterday to a nice day to potter with tractors today.

So, as I had an old pallet to take to my friend, I dragged it out and set it beside the loader tractor. It's battery was flat! That's my own fault - I didn't disconnect it last month as I intended using it the next day. Took it off the tractor and put it on charge. It's not a new battery, but it has always been OK till now - and I can't afford a new one!

I still wanted to see my friend, so I got the smaller David Brown out (started without any trouble of course) and went to his place.

He had his "Tonka Toy" (Mitsubishi 4WD thing) parked up to the Chimaera's back bumper and was trying to jump start the latter. He then realised the fuel pump wasn't working and, after I suggested checking fuses etc, he wired it to the Tonka's battery - pump is fine, no power getting to it.

I came home and played ball with the dog. Or I tried to - she had a new bone from the butcher, so I had no chance.
