It must be you - it worked fine for me! I'd suspect IE settings need changing - I use Firefox and it tends to be a little less cautious!!

Autoshite tells users which browser everyone is using by means of the appropriate favicon along by their handle in the list at the bottom of the page, the one that shows who's on. I wondered why they did that for a time, but then a member asked why their internets had exploded and sure enough, the e was right there to provide the answer.tractorman wrote:It must be you - it worked fine for me! Konqueror is more stable than the last few releases of Firefox and as it's essentially the same thing under the bonnet, this suggests that Firefox latest rounds of updates have done the damage. But anything beats IE, so use anything.
Meanwhile, Rich, clear the browser's history (especially that site with the special piccies of Ms Friel), its cookies and its cache then restart your machine. If that doesn't do the job you've broken another one!

It could well be that the seller has set their auction so that only people in the UK can see it.
I use Opera 12 for most of my surfing but have firefox, safari and ie (with ie tester so versions 5.5-10 are available).
Anyway, for Rich's benefit:

Re: Lada car prices what are they on?
Is it likely that both sellers would set their auctions so that only UK eBay members could see them? Fair enough if it were just the Lada that wasn't playing ball - though as that's in Hungary it's unlikely - but for the Granada engine in the other thread where the same thing happened to Rich to have the same exclusion; is it not more likely that the poor bloke has in fact broken the internet? Again!

The Lada's location is set to Birmingham.
Rich, what error are you seeing when you click the link?

Re: Lada car prices what are they on?
It is now, but when you look at the description it still says Hungary. I just had a quick look at the selling page as I have a saved, half ready listing on there ready to be completed when/if I can find the time and I couldn't actually see an option that would prevent members in any other country from seeing the listing once it's live. You can set it to reject bids and offers from elsewhere and also to refuse postage quote calculations requested by [daily mail]Johnny Foreigner[/daily mail] but it's still possible to search the eBay site for the country where the item is listed and view it. If I'm missing something I'd love to know how to stop people in Italy bidding on my radios. Sorry, Rich, for the o/t and FWIW I still think you broke something.

I can honestly say I have never tried blocking foreign bidders. I have sold various things and sent internationally. A quick Google shows that you can't do it. What a daft system! I may list a sideboard and see if I get any American bidders.

D'oh!
I wrote bidding up a'height there when I meant viewing. It is possible to block bidders from countries to which you don't offer to send an item, which is effectively preventing these countries' residents from having a bid but sadly, anyone from anywhere can view anything from anywhere else even if they aren't added to the seller's list of locations from which bids are accepted.
If you look at the bidder requirements in the screen grab below, there it says that members who don't live in countries to which I post can't bid, but it would be great to be able to prevent their looking at the items.
This being the case, Rich, are you still there? Maybe he's in a cell in Guantanamo Bay as we speak? They can still hang folk who burst the internet, can't they?
