Which always begs the question, Why do it in the first place???

The continuous insurance is still a fix and only there to make money for dvla and insurance companies and boils my urine

That has to be extremely painful. Have you seen a doctor? ;)

It's not a doctor you want for that, it's Rolf Harris and/or Valerie Singleton, they (allegedly) like it nice and warm. :x

Well if it's come in to law, then they need to tell the automated system.

I have just had a renewal for one of mine that's on Sorn.

Just renewed it, and there was no mention of not having to do it again unless I sell.

In fact it said it was valid for twelve months again.

That'll be because it isn't the 16th yet and existing expiries that come before that date will need to be treated in the usual way.

I've just renewed SORN on two motorbikes due to expire on the 31st of December due to getting the renewal letter, still only stating valid for 12 Months.

I wonder if that will be it or not, seen as the fresh SORN was made before the 16th but only takes effect on the 1st January 2014. Currently a vehicle enquiry shows date of liability as 01 01 2015....

I might be falsely accusing the DVLA of being logical in its implementation of this newest change to the system. But hey, positive thinking and all that.

Half the time the DVLA don't understand their own rules and regs, so what hope do we have? ;)

It'd not surprise me if they carry on sending out the current style per year forms until such time they run out of them and finally get round to putting new forms in the printer
