I got the paint from a seller on evilbay, although I dealt direct over the phone, and it cost me just under £100 for 2.5 litres of Cellulose, 2.5 l of filler/primer and 5 litres of thinners posted. Really nice and helpful guy too.

As I only had a couple or 3 hours spare before having to do the school run, I didn't get into stripping paint off the doors, so I just did some stripping! Some may say dropping the headlining is a bit excessive for a respray, but while screens are out, I want to get some rust preventative up behind the rear screen, and to drill a hole for an aerial before it's painted.

At least I can crack on and prep door shuts now after making room in the shed for the removed doors, seats, and other bits of trim and bits removed. It's now looking a bit, well, sorry for itself!

I know! It's disgusting! You pop in for a brew and :lol:

Thankfully, where most things were removed last year for paint (interior items excluded) the strip down has been really easy, no seized bolts nuts or screws, the screens came out with just hand pressure, which was nice.

Jobs for tomorrow is drop headliner out fully, and sort the surface rust out below headlight mounts, it's nothing major, a quick wire brush and treatment should do the trick. If I then have time I'll either strip one of the 2 remaining doors, or sort the shuts out and get them ready for paint.

Sounds like you have a busy few days ahead! Have you decided to go with the orange all over or are you still debating browns?

It will have a black roof, not sure if that will be normal black gloss, or metallic black. I'll probably do the rear panel in the same black to match rather than satin.

Managed to get a bit more done today, headliner and carpets out, plus dash bits, inner roof cleaned up and given a coat of anti rust, so hopefully that will be good for a few years to come, just need to clean off mastic from screen surrounds, then flat them back and main shell is ready for flatting and filler primer, so I'll get the last 2 door stripped next, then work on and rust repairs and fettling, so once they're done the lot can be primed, then sorted for top coats :)

Thanks to whoever stuck the headlight buckets in with mastic, glue, seam sealer and fibreglass filler! :evil: After much hassle finally got them out, with the only casualty being a plastic beam adjuster. :roll:

Loving the gangster lean on your drivers seat ;)
Fast progress, fingers crossed it stays dry for you!

And the brows are pretty solid too, just a bit of surface on the underside, so once I manage to contort myself back to front and inside out, I'll treat those too while it's all apart, then once painted slap some Waxoyl up there too.

I do have the garage to work in, but then I don't want to leave the car outside if it's wet, even if I do have a cover I can put over it, but if I can get the doors finished this week then I'm hoping paint will be on before the end of the month, providing, weather, finances and the old spine hold out!
