When was the last time you saw a Renault 12 estate? I owned one back in 1991 and hated it but wish I had it now Check out this one....

Gone but not neccesarily forgotten, you see loads of the Dacia versions in Bulgaria, and Archer's sidekick has one http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_301735-Dac ... -1971.html

Mine, complete with hemi out of a genuine 12 Gordini, strut front suspension conversion from a Fuégo, sump shield from an '84 Denem estate that was scrapped in '86, dashboard and centre console from the same source:


I used to own another, a blue one that wasn't so well preserved - VCU284T. Loved both of them as even the stock one was a great car and regularly carried Raleigh Wisps and similar that I had a habit of dragging home from farm sales and village roups all over the region. I lived in the Slate Green one for a couple of weeks once, following a minor difference of opinion with the Mrs about my third R12, a 1969 saloon that I rescued and restored.

Ah the old renaults were far nicer than the modern boring cars nowadays.We used to have a green 1978 (not estate) back in the good old 1980s that gave some problems including the fuel tank had to be changed, the front suspension collapsed for no reason and the indicator stalk broke.I liked her, but my parents could not keep up the payments, I believe around 90 quid a month? So the car was repossessed and my dad looked around for another car.This was exciting to me as to what he would get.A "Maxi" was considered at one time, (our faces scrunched up at that ). We eventually could only afford a 1971 Hillman avenger that was heavily smoked in, but that car was another story.

Sweet! but... [anorak]it has two left wipers instead of a left one and a right one. Wipers on UK R12s were different from side to side as the driver's side of the screen wasn't cleared effectively by the shorter wiper so they fitted a straight one with a blade one Inch longer on the driver's side, as seen on VBW in the piccie.[/anorak]

Believe it or not, I do get out more.
