1300cc why?

MG used to do a lot of speed record attempts in various classes, based on engine size. In some cases, they would remove pistons and run a six as a smaller four. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldie_Gardner & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldie_Gardner were two of the most well known drivers pre war and during the 1950s Stirling Moss and Phil Hill drove MG record breakers such as http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/variants/vt104_ex181.htm.

MG Midget 1500, MGB GT V8, Morris Minor Traveller 1275, MG Midget 1275 & too many bicycles.

Odd one, My Fiat Uno 60 was actually 1116cc, but hey that was from the late 80`s
