I find hitting the side of a rusty range rover with a hammer and bolster quite therapeutic. Putting metal back in on the other hand.........JPB wrote:I found that swearing at steering boxes is an immensely therapeutic activity.

Took the Mog in for an MOT and it passed first time. Not even an advisory
Came home and fixed one of the oil leaks that has been bugging me for years having spotted where it is coming from while she was on the MOT man's ramp. (where the line enters the block from the oil filter there was a slow weep. New copper washer and it is oil tight. Well that joint is anyway)

Washed the Midget on the weekend, and greased the front suspension. MoT tomorrow....

Terry, well done, Rick, good luck for the Midget's test, not that an engineer of your calibre ought to need luck....

Thanks John.JPB wrote:Rick, good luck for the Midget's test, not that an engineer of your calibre ought to need luck....
Passed, no advisories.
Which is odd, because last year it was a different tester and he gave advisories on 4 suspension items that allegedly had play in them. I guess he was just ignorant about old cars with kingpins etc.
Several passing folk gave nice comments, like "cor, that's clean" and so on, which is always a good feeling.
Now I need to get out and drive it!
Cheers

Been clearing Rusty Rileys radiator of a nasty case of blocking up after developing a few teething troubles not least being a tendency to overheat after a while of driving, had to happen really after 43 - 45 years off the road.
Radiator now down from a 13 second drain off time from full to empty to 5 seconds so fingers crossed it doesn't decide to leak from its cleaned out passages. Next step to put everything back together and flush the full system.
