Old Film F1 engines

Likey likey !
Re: Old Film F1 engines
I found it fascinating that they didn't actually bother developing a range of different turbo builds, instead they just used compressed air from an outside supply until it was working then made a turbo to match that spec.....proper British engineering.
Re: Old Film F1 engines
Well done Jimmyybob for spotting the footage,it'll be going on my phone to watch later. Big turbos were necessary for top end performance, but were crap on low revs. Although I'm clueless on F1 cars,as I don't know what revs they idle at. But big turbos have lag. That can be achieved by using free-floating turbos (without wastegate/actuator) like I have on my XR4i (which won't start, fueling issues). It has been mentioned that F1 cars didn't have dump valves
