linkedin

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

It is sort of an electronic CV. I don't bother with it myself but I know lots of people that do.

It depends. If you are a contractor it is a handy site. The people I know that use it are in IT and point prospective employers to their linked.in site to see what they have done / do.

Not Just IT that like it. A friend who is ex National Audit Office Loves it.

Kind of like Facebook for "professionals" without the useless tat, from what I hear.

Out here in the Middle East it seems to be popular with expat professionals. I finally gave in and signed up a week ago - and my profile has already been accessed by the HR people at another aviation company here, so they must always be trawling for potential staff.

Social networking for professionals.

I have a Linkedin profile and use it to connect with colleagues in the same line of work as me. Very useful for making business contacts as it gives you suggestions for people you may want to connect with based on who you're connected to. The basic profile is free but you have to pay for the whistles and bells.
