Sounds like a really good reason for all parents to drive one. Think how much quieter the roads would be between 8:30-8:50 and 3:00-3:30!
i used to go out with a girl like that, she refused to go anywhere with me in my old viva....didnt last that long

Why ever would it not be?
Ordinarily it’s not illegal but I can think of two examples locally, where it is illegal. The High Street in Blackwood is favoured by “Werdonkeys”, who “Cruise” up and down (Up and down, up and down, up and down) it of an evening (Driving like complete jerks). There were mini roundabouts at each end and it is now illegal to perform a U turn at either, between certain hours (Something like 7pm and 6am). Some of these clowns came from as far away as Swindon, just to drive up and down Blackwood High Street (God alone knows why…..maybe the local tarts gave them a nice welcome in the hillside). A similar notice has been placed near the town clock in Tredegar (The clock is in the middle of a roundabout in the “Circle”), as that was being used for the same thing.

In the case of Blackwood, the town bypass easily enables them to do a circuit, so the ban on U turns simply means that instead of driving up and down, they now drive up and up or down and down   .

I followed a fairly new Skoda estate through Carlisle this morning. It only indicated once in the two or three miles! Most other vehicles indicated at junctions etc, but the Skoda only indicated when it turned off the main road and went to the hospital - it was a Paramedic's car, so perhaps the rules of the road have changed recently!

Ah you see tractorman the answer to why the Paramedic only indicated when he turned into the hospital was somebody may have been watching or the CCTV camera was pointed at the entrance.

I can't operate my indicators when I'm using 'hands free' or to put it another way driving with a burger in one hand and a phone in the other and steering with my knees.

Is this topic supposed to be serious?

I live on the North Wales Border with Chester and the driving standards in this area are appalling.
The 30 limit no longer exists here, I was actually overtaken last night on the high street for doing the posted 30 limit. I live on the main road and the amount of cars doing 50+ past my house is impressive, it used to be boy racers in Novas with exhausts as big as the car but now its most drivers.
75% of drivers don't indicate, I dip down to a roundabout each morning and every day without fail a car arrives at the right hand junction and although most cars then pull into the junction I am waiting at you can never tell for certain that they will as so far in 5 years no one has indicated as to where they are going.
I was chuckling when I saw this thread as I was cursing yet again this morning as to 'why don't people use their bloody indicators' at said junction yet again. (Silver Astra - does that count as German ?)

The main problem I get though is tailgating, as I do stick to the limits I get this worse than most. When I first started driving I was convinced my speedo was out but several cars later I know this not to be the case.
I have tried doing the 35 to compensate for speedo error rubbish and it makes no difference at all, they are still stuck right up your bum.
I generally pull over and wave them past, some of them get really angry and burn off at about 50 and others are really happy and wave thankfully.
I don't find it too difficult myself to stick to the posted limits - if it says 30 on the sign then I don't feel an urge to do at least 40 minimum. It would appear to me though that 85% of drivers disagree. Just try sticking to the limits in your town and you will see what I mean.

Been there, do that every day and yes I always get people catching up and sitting right on my rear bumper. The police put up a speed trap in a local town at the bottom of a long downhill straight that leads into the town's 30 limit. They caught loads of people speeding. Maybe they should set up some sort of non-indication trap and politely educate those who don't indicate

We had a speed camera, not far from my street. It used to slow people down, which was useful, if only because the turning into my street is tight and you can't really approach it at speed. Alas the sub culture put a tyre around the camera and set fire to it; now only the yellow lines, on the road, are left and knobheads are again jammed up your exhaust, if you stick to 30. I sometimes try a dab of accelaration, to open a gap, so I can slow down without a prat in my boot. I also try to keep an eye on the mirror and judge things so I don't arrive at the turning with someone behind.....not always possible.

I find the 30mph speed cameras are fantastic overtaking areas ..As the car in front slows from 50 to 25mph ,you keep your foot down..(provided there's a gap, that is , the oncoming traffic will only be doing 25mph anyway... ) overtake the car in front, then, slam on the brakes before the yellow lines to get down to the 30 limit ..Impresses no end of other drivers, they all wave at you
