Tight fit !
Commenced a new site today (I manage enviromental water related civil engineering projects / river restorations / lakes / canals / marinas etc) - on this project we are installing some new slipways for a sailing club - anyhow I had to somehow get this beast into the site down a very tight and twisting slope This one of our specialist long reach excavator fleet - 40 ton - tracked - with a 22 metre reach, we have the jib up in order to move the weight off the rear wheels which are all steering - but by remote control
- the driver operates the tractor unit whilst his mate on the ground issues instructions and operates the remote for rear steering axles - it was an only just fit with the base of the trailer scraping the road has the unit was taken down the slope and into the site but after a couple of shunts in it went The neck at the front of the trailer splits from the trailer bed on hydraulics to allow unloading Off loaded & ready for work

Re: Tight fit !
Unfortunatly has the trailer was reconnected to the tractor unit one of the hydraulic hoses for the suspension under the rear axle burst - so we had to get the trailer up in the air to effect the repair The 40 ton excavator makes it's smaller brother - 7 ton - 10 metre reach - look like a Tonka toy Just has the drivers were finishing a quick brew I noticed this on the back of the larger tractor unit Has you can see in the image the company that we use for large amount of our plant & equipment moves is branded 'Tomato Plant' - liveried within the tomato logo on the rear of the cab are the words 'Puree Satisfaction'
