Spitfire Mk IV ignition wiring
Spitfire Mk IV ignition wiring
Many months ago my Spit went in to be painted, with all its wiring neatly labelled. Unfortunatley after nearly twelve month in a bodyshop the labels are unreadable. I need to wire up the coil, starter solenoid, ballst resistor etc, but in true I-dont-know-what-i'm-doing style I am rubbish at reading schematics. Could anyone help me out with an idiots guide, or better still, some pics?
Thanks dudes!

If you can't read a schematic then your best plan is to contract the job out to someone who can and who can use a test lamp/multimeter to trace faults.

Are all of the labelled wires still their correct colours or did the bodyshop manage to get overspray over them?
If they did, then go with Pete's advice and save yourself loads of frustration, albeit at some considerable cost.
However, if you can still see the insulation colours, then these are standard Lucas and as such, there's sufficient information available in cyberspace to enable even a complete novice to connect the right bits of car to the right bits of cable.
