Merry Christmas

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Merry Christmas

#1 Post by Martin Evans »

For those who don't hate Christmas, Merry Christmas (Hope nobody has been flooded). Here's a seasonal photo, taken a few years ago, outside the shop. I'm sure I've used this before but if it ain't broke........

Image

Let's hope that we get such blue skies during next Summer, as here in 1976. The photo shows the doorway to a church, that was flooded, when they built a local reservoir. It doesn't appear very often :!:

Merry x mas to everyone and lets hope we all get our non runners back on the road on 2013????? For some of us its a bit more of an ask than others (Arceye!!!!).

Lets also hope that weather and the economy improve, although neither can be as bad as they were under the last Government...

Merry Christmas from me, and like Megadeth I hope we all get our projects sorted in 2013. Rusty Riley will hopefully keep moving on.

Times may be hard, the weather may be sh**, and troubles many for folk at the moment. For those whose xmas is spoilt by the extremes of life and death my thoughts and empathy are with.

For everyone else the world will keep turning and today is a bloody good chance to take it relatively easy, and make the most of those we have around us and what we have.

So, MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR, I hope 2013 will be all you want it to be

I don't think there's much anyone can add to that . . . . . . . Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Time to bring this old chestnut to the top again and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a "Classic" new year (Reading the original post, I note the comments on flooding; deja vu :!:).

This reminds me of new year 1985, when my father and I went down to a place called Piddle Hinton, to look at the V8. We drove down in the Midget, on a cold and crisp day (My father reckons he is still shivering). We took the V8 for a run and I was surprised when my father asked me if I wanted to try it. I didn't need any pursuading and I was even more surprised when he told me to give it some welly. It was the first proper quick car I had driven and I remember how quickly the gear changes came, after I moved off  . Happy days :D :!:

It's amazing how quickly 200+hp will propel you along. My v8 is not fast but it shuts up the local chavs in their barried shopping trollies.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.
