eBay! start at 99p and see what you get
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Re: V6 into a RHD Chrysler Neon mk1
Here is that vintage headlamp I may have mentioned earlier.

Well any ideas on what this is off?
I got sick of tripping over the tow ball and pin so many times, that I
had to put it on the car so I didn't break my foot on it. I did double
nut the bolts to be on the safe side.

Here is what the old tow bar used to look like on the car!

As you can see the old swan neck was too high it obsecured the number
plate. So another reason for it to be changed.
And the reason I was in the shed tripping over the tow bar ball and pin?
A nice chap with the user "nameministockneon" on the neons.org forum
had sent the plug I needed for the idle air control valve, and it arrived
by the post this morning.
So it was incentive to make a start on Christine's electrics again.
After cutting and soldering the wires, the IACV plug was plugged in along
with the throttle position sensor. Starter and alternator cables rerouted
cut and ends soldered ready to be terminated at the battery.
The TCU(transmission control unit) was bolted in place, the battery was
slid into it's tray. I then popped the air intake and filter onto the throttle
body to make sure the bonnet would close properly.

I know I still have a lot of sorting out when it comes to the wiring around
that area around the ECU and fuse board. Although the bonnet closed
easily, I will not truly know if the filter will rub on the underside of the
bonnet until the engine is running.
As that much stuff has come back from clearing the relatives house out,
there is no access to the welding sets in the garage. So the exhaust is on
hold for a while.

Hopefully not too long until "The Big Fire Up".
Re: V6 into a RHD Chrysler Neon mk1
Every couple of weeks I attach the starter motor to a battery to get
the pistons moving and the engine turning over but not to fire up.
This is to make sure the motor doesn't seize up, and the fluids get to
pump around.

Have you got many more bits to source before you can get it running or is there just hard work left?

Re: V6 into a RHD Chrysler Neon mk1
Until dad gets the welding set out to finish the exhaust off, I have
loads of wiring to sort out, and repair the fan fixing brackets after
something fell on them. Once the fans are sorted the front bumper
can go back on.
Mother has asked if she can store one or two things in my tool shed,
this would mean an even longer delay as I would not be able to
access my tools or relevant parts. Yes it is getting that bad!
There is just too much stuff to sort out from that relatives house!

So reading between the lines, time and physical endurance allowing you could be back on the road for the autumn. You'll have some time left to annoy porsche drivers before they put their cars away for the winter.

I like that idea terry I really do
I think I may have a good winch on order off the bay of E.
A Rule 12 volt dc winch marked 3300lb, and it has 8.5 metres of 5.3mm
galvanised wire rope.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1100662849
A standard 1997 Chrysler neon Weighs approx: 1100 kg (2425 lbs)
Now please keep in mind that the platform is to be used on the tow bar
pin, but it can be used with either the discovery's or the neon's.
And if dad does what I ask it could be used with the trailer so as to make
it usable on it too with pulling logs onto it.
The discovery can use it with the boat trailer, saving dad getting the
disco in the water again
But something I couldn't resist at £40 including postage, and I can mess
about with it in the shed in bad weather.
