On a more serious note, This has got to be the worst decision they could have made, Admittedly the majority of owners of pre 60s vehicles wont misuse the new system but there will be those who will.

When I looked under the drivers side I saw what I thought was the flasher unit.....In hindsight this could have been the 3AW unit.
I had not seen what one looked like until today but they look very similar.

Location of 3AW unit on Rover P6B ?
I have finally got hold of a 3AW unit which controls the alternator warning light. All I need to do is locate where this unit fits.I know the 4TR regulator is located behind the passenger glove box so no problem there.
Any Rover experts that can point me in the right direction please ?

You say you think the mis-fire is the rearmost one, Try swopping the coil pack with another on the engine , If the mis-fire moves as well you may have a coil pack breaking down and changing the plug may well be able to overcome that coils shortcomings for a while.
