As an hour of general - dont think too hard- entertainment, it follows the well-known formula; a cross between pimp my ride and all those do up your house and make a fortune progs.
The program probably isnt allowed to tell the viewers the real cost of a restoration like this,to the bloke in the ...

Attaching photos
New member, so sorry to ask the obvious. I want to attach photos to a reply / resto story, but can not find out how to do it. Do you have a simple facility to allow me to copy / paste files in from my computer directly. Do I have to use something more sophisticated ? Photos are generally ~ 1 MB each ...

Re: Difficult to start from cold.
If you try jump starting it from another car directly from cold, without any attempt to use the in-situ battery and it fires up first time, would this then also point towards the need for a more powerful battery? or at least eliminate this as the reason for your problem?

Re: MIG Welding by Generator
I faced the same problem when hiring a (small) lock up without power supply. Consequently my renovation only proceeded in daylight and when it was not raining, so I could wheel out the car for access.
My investigations for the power supply for a SIP 130 Mig mate indicated I needed a 5kw generator ...

Re: Daimler 250 V8 (1968 model - G reg )
I agree that if you use petrol additive you should stick to one make. I also use valvemaster. It works out a very cheap insurance policy per litre fuel. 9 years / 10,000 miles no problems yet, but I have a steel cylinder head on the Alvis.
Hope you had the exhaust looked at. I had the same problem ...

Re: Daimler Dart - SP250 Fluids & Wiring
Hi,
I have a '64 Alvis. I use EP90 for the diff and I would be very surprised if you could use anything else on your Dart.
For my gearbox (5-speed ZF) I use ordinary 20/50 Engine oil.
Can you loan an owner's manual from the Daimler owners club ?
Must be a number of folks on this forum with Daimler ...
