Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

I saved this from dad's scrap metal bin which he was going to weigh in
as scrap. Just I have no Idea what it's for! Any idea of what is or what
it's worth?

A straight-on shot of the label could help.

With the sun

Looks like some kind of garden sprayer or somesuch to me. Make a nice ornament?
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

I approve of it, anything to keep the little gray cells exercised when the
weather turns, and you can't do anything on the old motor.
Start digging around in your garages and sheds guys, lets make this
interesting!

I think you beat me to it Zipgun as that would have been my guess too. Give the guages a little squeeze as they are stacked and the gripper thing at the end to "wring" them apart as they tend to stick together.
Never seen a tool like that though - I was always taught to wring them together as well as apart.
I love Mitsurus old blowlamp - does it operate like the Coleman camping stoves? To me, anything in brass is worth polishing up and hanging on the wall.
I will have to photograph some of the bits my Dad collected as almost 9 months after his passing, I am still going through what Mr Trebus might have refered to as his "possessions". Just chucked out an old Hotpoint washing machine with built in mangle that my Mum used when I was a kid, but could not find the huge set of wooden tongues she used to feed the mangle. Did find a proper washboard in good nick though - so watch out Derek Guyler......
And 20 pre-decimalization "penny" bangers which should help the festivities of the coming season.

Bugger! That thing would have been worth having/hanging onto!
Mother keeps braking these modern washing machines, as she washes
horse blankets and rugs in them. That old washer would have been able
to handle them and a lot more.
I used have one and it was wonderful doing the double quilts & overalls
in. Although you did have to man handle soaked clothes it was worth it!
