Welcome to the forum.
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

Thanks for the welcome .TerryG wrote:Hi Lawrence, welcome to the mad house
Thank you! I'll get some pictures on here once the car is finished, as it doesn't look very appealing in my garage. May I ask why I can't update my location yet?Luxobarge wrote:So how about posting up LOTS of pictures of the project eh?Arcnewal wrote:. I currently have a 68 MGC .

Hi Lawrence,
Now you have made 2 posts you should be able to make any changes to your profile you like. New users are disabled from adding any additional information as we went through a period of spammers registering hundreds of accounts and filling the profile up with links to dodgy websites.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Matters not, I think we've all had/got/getting cars that don't look good, but are work in progress. Welcome
Re: Introductions
Hello Everyone
I'm Paul and slowly restoring a 77 BGT. Been doing it 5 years now and all without a garage ( and money/workshop/tools/common sense/skill). Its normally a case of summer rush then winter lay up with half the next summer spent getting it back to pre lay up. The bodywork is almost complete but sanding and filling is time consuming and boring. The engine did run fine till I had the head off and re-skimmed and pressure tested. Used the holy grail of gaskets ( Payen Black) only to find water mixing with the oil....!!
Is this a disaster of great proportions viz cracked block ? Anyone know how I can tell if the blocks cracked and how to find it. I'm hoping its the cheap 20/50 oil I used.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I have a lengthy blog at whyisitnotworkingright.blogspot.com covering the ups and downs of my restoration over the years + lots of photos too.
