An 80's icon

Last time I came onto this forum it told me I was banned :( Happily it seems that was a server glitch and I'm not really :D As I'm now allowed back on, I thought I'd tell the story of my latest classic........ For the last couple of years I'd been thinking about selling my Jaguar...... it was an awe...

Re: Car ads of the 80's

Considering that some brave souls extracted North of 300bhp from the 5's hemi-headed version of the good old Cleon engine (a specific output rarely seen even now and now only in track cars that would toil to get close to 5,000 miles from each engine, never mind 50,000), I reckon they weren't too sh...

Re: Car ads of the 80's

A very clever and entertaining advert from back in the day...... how to make a low spec rep mobile seem appealing.... I like the way they emphasise the fact that it comes with a radio cassette.... these days we take it for granted that a car comes with a decent stereo, back then, it was very hit and...

Re: Vehicle Inspection Pit

The delivery costs were very high but I contacted Chris, the owner of Mech-mate...

Re: Mazda RX7 Elford Turbo 1984

Thanks guys.... they are a rare car these days, the Elford turbo particularly so. That Elford turbo powered Viva belongs to Alex in New Zealand....his work on the car is awe-inspiring! The car that Alexs' engine came from is this one which is a good example of how rare the Elfords are..... http://i5...

Re: 1968 Viva HB with Elford carb fed turbo rotary

Hiya Alex...... we have to stop meeting like this! The designer of the orginal Elford setup was Malcolm Cole,an ex-Janspeed development engineer of AutoMarine Turbochargers in Christchurch, Dorset. Everything I know about Elfords engineering is here.... http://www.rx7fb.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=35 .
