Re: Going East - getting a UAZ 469 back on the road
As show season is up us I thought it was time to get the old girl running again. Had the in-line fine filter apart and cleaned all the gunge out of that so it is ready to go then went to pump the fuel back up - it always drains down to the pump if left more than a week or two. Started pumping the ma...

Re: Photobucket ...
Looks like the bean counters at PhotoBucket have done the math - belatedly - and worked out they are losing far more than they are going to gouge on the new rates. So I got an e-mail from them tonight with a "special offer" - their Premium service at $99 a year that allows for: Store up to 300,000 P...

Re: Photobucket ...
Found a way of getting entire libraries off. Trick is you need a mobile phone with enough room to store at least the largest the library and a USB cable that will connect the phone to a PC. Having WiFi will save you a fortune on data charges too.. * Fully charge the phone and hook it up to the PC vi...

Re: Photobucket ...
The option to download the album, it seems, has now been removed from the options list. It appears you can only download individual photos and videos. A right royal PITA when there are over 2,500 images.

Re: Series 3 Landie FFR
Went up to Peterborough for the LRO show last weekend - trip up was great, until I arrived when a funny knocking sound started in the engine bay. Funnily enough it never repeated itself all weekend but on the way home it was not running right. lack of power on inclines and whilst it pulled OK in 1st...

Re: Series 3 Landie FFR
So - new HD washer pump and defender type washer jets are now fitted and working. You need to look really closely to tell they aren't Series ones. Yesterday I took it down for an MoT and she passed with nor problems - very sympathetic tester to older vehicles so I'll be taking all my vehicles down t...

Re: New Project...
Another half a days work - had to wait in because the daughter Mk 1 had her driving test at 09:00 - she passed! So now she can learn to drive real vehicles!! But still progress. I was bugged by those winders not working so took them out again. The cranked arms were definitely catching so w...

Re: Going East - getting a UAZ 469 back on the road
Had the plugs out today - as you can see from the image below they were filthy. Numbers 1 and 2 were thick soot, numbers 3 and 4 were not so bad. Small plugs Aug 2017.jpg Broke out the WS40 and a rag - gave them all a good blast and a scrub to clean them up. Checked the gaps - all set at 0.6mm so re...

Re: Going East - getting a UAZ 469 back on the road
Went down to Military Odyssey in the UAZ over the weekend - trip down was uneventful, cruising along at 60 KPH (could have got up to 70 kph but over 60 kph the steering gets a mind of its own). Trip back was likewise - until I got to the Dartford crossing - which was its usual SNAFU from the A2 to t...

Re: Series 3 Landie FFR
Last of the overdue reports :-) The Series 3 had - until very recently been behaving itself. However its due for its MOT - expired in July so I checked it over and everything worked - except the screen washers..... An hour or so's work got the passenger one working but the drivers side would not hav...
