I seem to remember the rear looking more like this but I think without the spare wheel holder.

I don’t remember it clearly enough to draw it so I’m thinking that it must be the Vauxhall 14-6 six-light saloon. It does have a sloping back and fits my description, perhaps I didn’t remember the more vertical boot. I was hoping for that "aha, that’s it" moment but 60 years is probably too long ago...
